Bik qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and from that time has practiced continuously in Family law.
She was a recommended family practitioner in the Legal 500 in 2002 cited as providing an excellent service to her clients. She is now a member of the Resolution Committee on professional standards (Resolution being the professional organization to which many family solicitors belong) and has in the past published articles of professional interest in their journal (the Resolution review).
Bik takes a flexible pro-active approach in order to find the most appropriate remedy for the client, be it through alternative dispute resolution, or legal proceedings where the level of contention is high. At all times she aims to provide clients with a sympathetic service which is tailored to their needs. Areas of practice include:
- Divorce and applications for matrimonial financial remedies;
- Applications under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996;
- Cases concerning contact with children and where the children of separated parents should live;
- Pre and post nuptial agreements;
- Living together agreements;
- Separation agreements;
- Contested probate under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975
Because of a long standing interest in employment law, Bik now advises on Employee Settlement agreements.
Away from the office Bik is an enthusiastic follower of classical ballet, and enjoys listening to music.
